Small joint with Japanese & Thai décor. Thai iced tea was sweet and smooth but was only 5/7 filled and had ice so not much drink wise. We mainly ordered Japanese food – hotate hokkaiyaki, tuna bomb, katsu curry, scallop ikura don, and foie gras x uni nigiri. We had a bunch of sashimi as well; the slices were thick and fresh. However the mackerel was on the drier side and overcooked.
Katsu curry taste different compared to Japanese curry and the curry smothered the katsu. The sauce is on the sweeter side and mild spicy.
The scallop ikura don was a bit dry but the scallops were mildly sweet. The scallops were lightly torched and it did not come with enough ikura to give the bowl enough sauce.
Unassuming location in a strip mall in Hingham but delicious food. Wonderful service. The seating can get a little cramped. But the flavors are worth it! Great quality for sushi. The Thai dishes bring me back to Thailand. It's rare that you have a restaurant that does so many things well, but this is definitely a must go if you're in the area!
This is my second time ordering food from this place and figured I’ll try them out again since first time experience was okay. The Tom Yum Noodle Soup is disgusting. Broth is heavy with garlic and too sweet. Nothing authentic about their thai food. Sushi is okay but stay away from all thai entrees from this place.
small place (5-6 tables of 2 or 4), but with lots of takeout biz, food turnover is adequate to keep ingredients fresh
Japanese dishes (which we mostly ordered) are well-made. Plating is appealing (ex. tuna bomb, scallop hokkaiyaki). There are some inventive renditions of regular ingredients (ex. Aladdins). Huge plus for offering "off-mainstream" items like akimo (monkfish liver), anago (sea eel), and sea grapes.
Thai food was great too; had a veggie Pad See Ew, veggies cooked through but not mushy, flavors were there. Portion a bit small but great since I'm mostly munching appetizers.
Service was friendly and adequate. The place is clean. Extra points for ease of parking. Through and through a great experience. Would trek all that way just to do it again (and did).
ThaiBarShi is a great bite to eat when you are in the Weymouth area. They are a fusion of Thai and Japanese food. Oddly enough, the sushi is actually what I recommend to get here, especially the speciality rolls. The weymouth roll is incredibly good! The speciality rolls are reasonably priced and are delicious. I have gotten the pad thai here before as well and it is pretty good. Highly recommend this spot!
Loved the fusion of foods here! Very delicious and one of my favorite spots in Weymouth area! The Thai Iced Tea is also very delicious. I really enjoyed my dine in experience, food was yummy and cozy vibes of a family owned business!!
Great takeout and the playing is amazing so definitely have to dine in too.
Went looking for a decent Thai place outside of Quincy. Based on reviews, figured I’d try this place. Staff were friendly and food was done before estimated time. Food tasted good. However it wasn’t what I ordered/it appeared different. I got the chicken Katsu, but instead they gave me pork (or, perhaps even worse, what appeared to be pork cuz I’ve never seen beige, almost brown, chicken). Ordered massaman curry (carrots, onions, sweet potatoes, peanuts) with beef, but there were no sweet potatoes or peanuts and the beef looked like shaved meat added in at the last minute. Can’t remember the name of the mayo sauce on top of the Katsu, but there was some on top that just tasted more like Mayo than anything else (and detracted from what looked to be some other sauce on it). Ginger sauce with Scallion pancakes spilled all over the bottom, so the last two were soaked at the expense of being able to eat the sauce with the other pancakes. Again, it tasted good. Just not what I thought it’d be. Probably won’t go back.
